Not an Unreal fan. I think it's good shifting the date away from Halo 3, as more people may be interested in it once their tired of Halo 3. It's a shame it's because Microsoft and are being so tight on the online mods. More fun please Microsoft.

The problem, as I see it, is that Halo 3 is going to keep most gamers busy until they forget about the other games (that is, the games released at the same time as Halo 3).

"Educated guesses" are the words. Halo 3 was rumoured for just about every game exhidition: it was bound to happen at some point. Remember how many people claimed Halo 3 would appear at X06? That didn't happen.
And I don't think Microsoft would like claims about their games going round that aren't going to happen. They'll obviously debunk it if it isn't true.

When will people stop living in the illusion that consoles will out pace PCs? I know this was old, but peoplpe still say simular things today. I am no pC gamer, but I honeslty don't think consoles will ever out perform PCs.

This technology has been built to run on PCs and Macs with DVD drives. If it can run on them (as it is doing in the demo) then it should have no troubles running on a 360 or PS3. carmack clearly says it's built for ALL next gen platforms.
What really excites me about this, is how it should (hopefully) lower developement time, while still maintaining AAA graphics.

I would loved to have done the same, but I would be setting myself up for disappointment. Now that I've played the Beta, my expectations of the game are more "realistic".
I'm tired of waiting for films and games with such high expectations,only to be disappointed. I've given up trying not to have films or games spoiled.

Yeah, I find it ironic that Sony fanboy's predicted that Resistance would be so much better than Gears, and now arguing for Gears over Gears on the PS3 (not even Gears of War 2...). Just buy a 360.
I hope this is not true, 'cose I don't like the idea of having uneven strengths and weaknesses. Halo has always been about having all players equal. Imagine taking an extra melee to kill someone...
It's even worse when it's tied to your Spartans look, 'cose it means I might want one particular ability to suite my playing style, but using it makes me look rubbish. Or the look that I want for my character, means I'm using armour for sniping, when I don't snipe much.
